We are very pleased to offer this vintage oil painting of " Folly Cove" in Cape Ann Massachusetts done by the well
listed artist Isabel Frances Rodgers. The painting depicts a rocky shoreline along the cove showing nice detail and
shadowing in the rocky ledge. The ocean is bright blue and shows a very calm tide giving the painting an overall calm
and peaceful feeling. Rodgers was born in 1890 in Forth Worth, TX and eventually moved to Lumberville, PA.
She studied at the Moore Institute of Art and Design for Women in Philadelphia, PA. with George Elmer Browne,
Member: Artists AM.; NAC; NAWPS. Exhibited: NAD, 1931, 1932, 1934, 1937, 1938; NAWA, 1937-38. The painting,
done on artist board, measures 12" x 16" and comes housed in a linen bordered frame with gunmetal gray and light
blue on the outer borders. The frame, measuring 16 1/2" x 20 1/2" compliments and enhances the painting
beautifully. The painting is signed in the lower right hand corner " Isabel Rodgers ", and also on the back is written
" Rockport-Gloucester Mass ~ Isabel F. Rodgers ". The painting is in excellent original condition and has never been
out of the frame.
