Ida Waslaske was born in 1920 in Athol, MA. and is well known in the community. She was raised in this small
northern Massachusetts town where she still lives and paints from her hilltop home. From the windows of her studio,
and on a clear day, she can see the impressive landscape of Mount Monadnock in the distance. These rolling hills and
valleys are, and continue to be, the inspiration for her work.
For several years she studied landscape painting, and was a friend and student of the late William Lester Stevens of
Conway, Massachusetts and later with Juan Duvalot of Jaffrey, New Hampshire. Both artists were featured in the
"American Artist Magazine". Ida Waslaske has exhibited widely and is a member of the Deerfield Art Association, Jaffrey
Art Center, Art on the Mountain, Wilmington, VT., and the Old Deerfield Painting Group. Her interesting impressionistic
style of painting, and her always appealing choice of subject matter, has made her work quite popular and much sought
after.
