Featured Artist - Sharon Jordan Bahosh
| I am a professional artist of about 38 years, solely making it my livelihood. I am a juried member of two national venues, the Northshore Art Association, and the Academic Artist Association, and a member of the Rockport Art Association, which only accepts juried New England membership. I have earned ten major awards and 45 regional awards so far in my career. I studied at the Art Institute of Boston, the Saint Michael's Institute of Sacred Art and with the contemporary masters Charlotte Wharton and Daniel Greene. One of my greatest accomplishments has been placing my biblical work in several churches in New England. Other works are in municipal, corporate and private collections locally and nationally. I am currently represented at the Willoughby Fine Art Gallery on Martha's Vineyard, Aries East on Cape Cod, Arts Unlimited in S. Hadley MA and the Boulder Art Gallery in Fitchburg, MA. My voice is in the nuances of the paintings I paint. My inspiration comes first from within, from my soul. I select then that which appeals to me, pleasing to my eye and exciting in that it stirs some emotion. Factor in experiences in life, the possibilities for works of art are endless. These are the stepping stones on my artistic journey. I endeavor to record the historic; capturing a moment in time never to be seen quite the same way again. I love to paint the sea, its boats, its harbors, and the villages nearby. I capture the changing seasons in my paintings and work on spirited and believable portraits. I work on the sunset which will never come this way again the very same way. |
