1919  IVER JOHNSON
MODEL 90 ROAD RACER
PAGE #33
This is a 1919 Iver Johnson Model 90, Special Truss Frame Road Racer.  Serial # 344617 is stamped on the seat tube of this nicely
original, unmolested racer.   The original Iver Johnson Black paint is in exceptional condition and the single hair line striping although
worn in some places, can still be seen nicely on this 22" truss frame racer.  Both the Iver Johnson script on the downtube and the
Trust the Truss decal on the seatube, are in absolutely beautiful condition.  Up front is the correct  nickel headtube, narrow chrome
racing fork, and pre-21 headbadge all with an absolutely incredible original patina.   The racer is resting on a  set of painted, wood
racing wheels laced to a New Departure Model A coaster brake in the rear and an Iver Johnson 36 spoke hub up front.  Finishing off
the wheelset is an interesting  set of 28" "Harper"  tires that were on the bike when I purchased it.   The original Persons Majestic
racing saddle, Torrington "Star" rat trap pedals with toe clips, Iver Johnson handlebars with forward extension, and beehive grips add
to the great vintage look of this racer.   All in all, a superbly  preserved example of an Iver Johnson period racer and one of the best
I've seen.
