Danny A. Garcia is a Dominican painter currently residing in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. He demonstrated artistic abilities from a very early age
and he much preferred practicing his drawing during class, which he was careful to do when his teachers were not looking. As a teenager, Danny
decided to take painting seriously and he enrolled at the National School of Bellas Artes in Santo Domingo and then studied Graphic Arts at the
Salesian Institute of Santo Domingo. At both of these schools he was able to cultivate new drawing and painting techniques. Danny then decided
to pursue his other passion: law. While he studied to eventually become an accomplished lawyer, he did not abandon his artistic inclinations. He
continued paint, read art books, seeked and received counsel from other seasoned Dominican artists and he attended many art expositions. All of
these experiences allowed him to further define his technique and style.
Through their vivid compositions, Danny’s paintings depict images that reflect the warmth and beauty of Caribbean life and its customs. Many of
his paintings portray the Flanboyan Tree and the Rooster as main subjects. With their lively colors and their symbolism these elements can
individually hold their own; however, Danny sometimes combines them harmonically into a scene that is unique in its symmetry, its hue and in
each brush stroke.
